Madalena Rocha Pereira started his professional activity in 1989 in the Clothing and Textile Industry over 10 years, in product development and sourcing. PhD in Textile Engineering at University of Beira Interior (UBI), Covilhã, Portugal - 2007. She is a integrate member of I&D Unit FibEnTech-UBI and collaborate in Design - UNIDCOM-IADE-UE. His areas of expertise are sourcing and sustainability in the textile and clothing industry, product development for fashion design, fashion accessories, new technologies for the clothing industry and fashion trends. She is the author and co-author of 60-70 papers, advisor in 50 students (Master Thesis and PhD Thesis). Member of the scientific committee of several international conferences in the area of Fashion Design in the Textile and Clothing Industry with peer review: FibEnTech Symposium, Global Fashion Conference, CIMODE, CEPESE, CIRCLE, ICIEMC, D_TEX, and others. Responsible and member of research team projects as: U.MAKE.ID, Project PT 21- Powered Textiles 21st Century, TEXBOOST, STVgoDigital; BioEconomia@STV, among others, funded by European funds in Portugal 2020, and evaluator in others. Member of Portuguese Textile Cluster SIG Sustainable BioCircular; Skills and Product Development. She is Professor at UBI from 1991 and was Director of Fashion Design course; Master in Fashion Design (UBI), Director of Master in Branding and Fashion Design (UBI/IADE-UE). Today is President of the Faculty Council (Engineering) and Vice President of Textiles Department in the University of Beira Interior. Member of the team who create a new master in Branding and Fashion Design (UBI/IADE), PhD in Fashion Design (UBI/UM), bachelor’s in technology and Sustainable Fashion Product (UBI). Evaluator of the courses of Textiles and Fashion Design by Agency for Higher Education Assessment and Accreditation - A3ES. From 1991- 2023 he taught around 20 curricular units from different cycles (Textile Engineering; Fashion Design; Branding and Fashion Design; Technology and Sustainable Fashion Product) and studies - 1st, 2nd and 3rd cycles (Dyeing; Finishing; Materials; Product Development; Pattern Making and Draping; Pattern Making and Sewing; Fashion Atelier; Cutting Technology; Collections Fashion and Sourcing; Fashion Business and Production; Sustainable Fashion Design; Sustainability and Circularity in Fashion, Fashion Design Project, 3D Digital Fashion; Clothing Atelier, Clothing, Branding and Fashion Design Project, Branding Fashion, Dissertation in Fashion Design; Dissertation in Branding and Fashion Design. Created 10 curricular units of the courses that the Department of Textile Science and Technology was responsible for until 2019.
