Teresa Raquel Aurélio da Silva Nunes Barata is currently an Invited Assistant Professor at the Department of Textile Science and Technology of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Beira Interior and Invited Adjunct Professor at the Higher School of Applied Arts of the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco. She is a PhD Integrated Researcher at the Fiber Materials and Environmental Technologies Research Unit (FibEnTech-UBI). She is a Lead Auditor of Integrated Management Systems at the company TÜV Rheinland Portugal Technical Inspections. Currently also carries out professional activity as a trainer in the areas of Integrated Management Systems (Quality, Environment and OSH), and Ecolabels in the Textile Industry. She holds a PhD degree in Textile Engineering (2020), a Master degree in Textile Production Management (2008) and an under-graduation degree in Textile Engineering (1997), all by the University of Beira Interior, Portugal. She initiated her professional activity in 1996 in the textile industry, as Quality Director at the company Fiper - Fiação de S. Pedro, Lda, Portugal, where she was responsible for the quality department and textile testing laboratory. From 2000 to 2007 she worked as a Higher Technician, as Consultant and Auditor at CITEVE (Technological Center for the Textile and Clothing Industries) and from 2007 to 2019 as a Higher Technician, as Internal Auditor and Quality Coordinator at AFTEBI (Association for Technological and Professional Training of Beira Interior). Her scientific domains and main interests are in the areas of Engineering Sciences and Technologies with an emphasis on Textile Materials Engineering and sustainability in the textile and clothing industry.
