Ana Paula Costa holds a degree in Paper Engineering from the University of Beira Interior - UBI (1990). She is a master’s in science and technology of Paper and Forest Products, UBI / University of Aveiro, July 1994. PhD in Paper Engineering / Docteur en Génie des Procédés Papetiers, UBI / Institut National Polytecnique de Grenoble, November 2001. She has been an Auxiliary Professor in the Department of Chemistry since 2001, developing teaching and research activities. She has been a member of the Instituto Português de Acreditação (IPAC) Board of Evaluators for the ISO 17025 standard since 1989. He has been an elected member of the General Council of the University of Beira Interior since 2017. Elected member of the Board of Directors of TECNICELPA – Portuguese Association of Technicians of the Pulp and Paper Industries since 2011. In terms of teaching, she taught several curricular units in Bachelors and Masters in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, Paper Engineering, Engineering of Paper Pulp Production Processes (University of Coimbra, University of Aveiro and University of Beira Interior), Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Documental Sciences, such as Chemistry I, Analytical Methods I and II, Materials Science and Technology, Hygiene, Safety and Quality, Preservation and Conservation, Paper Physics, Paper Technology I and II. In the area of ​​research, her main interests are centered on the modification of cellulosic surfaces by cold plasma treatment, physical-mechanical characterization of cellulosic materials (pulp, paper and cellulosic films, etc.). She participated in several research projects funded by national and international programs. Author/co-author of several scientific articles in international journals.
Co-author of the 2007 Tecnicelpa Award at an event promoted by Portuguese Association of Technicians of the Pulp and Paper Industries.
