Ana Maria Matos Ramos completed a degree in Paper Engineering at the University of Beira Interior (1989), held a Master's degree in Science and Technology of Paper and Forest Products, Universities of Aveiro and Beira Interior, July 1994, completed a PhD in Paper Engineering, held jointly by the University of Beira Interior and the Institut Polytechnique de Grenoble, in 2001.
She has been an Auxiliary Professor at the Department of Chemistry at UBI since 2001, simultaneously developing Teaching and Research activities. At teaching level, he taught several curricular units in the Degrees in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Teaching Physics and Chemistry, Paper Engineering, and in the Masters in Paper Engineering, such as Chemistry I and II, Biochemistry I, Plant Biology, Introduction to Chemical Engineering, Physical Chemistry of surfaces, Physical Chemistry, Paper Transformation, Cardboard Technology, Printing Processes. In the area of ​​research, it has carried out co-promotion projects with the paper industry, in the field of paper surface properties and printing processes, with the main objective of improving/developing the product, aiming to keep the Portuguese paper industry at the forefront of international markets. He also carried out research work with the industry in the development of new cellulosic materials, particularly in the production of films/coatings for food packaging. She was scientific supervisor/co-supervisor of PhD and Master's students in Paper Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, Biochemistry and Biotechnology. He is the author/co-author of several scientific articles.
