Maria Adelaide Almeida

Maria Adelaide Araújo Almeida completed a degree in Industrial Chemistry at the Faculty of Sciences and Technology at the University of Coimbra (1987), she completed a postgraduate course in Sanitary Engineering (1995), and a Master's Degree in Sanitary Engineering (1999), at the Faculty of Sciences and Technology at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, and concluded her PhD in Environmental Engineering at the Instituto Superior Técnico, at the Universidade Técnica de Lisboa in 2012. She is a Coordinating Professor at the Department of Technologies and Applied Sciences, at the Polytechnic Institute of Beja (IPBeja), developing Teaching and Research activities in the field of treatment urban and industrial flows, such as pig farming, wastewater, urban effluents through biological treatment and phytoremediation. She taught several curricular units in the undergraduate and master's degrees taught at IPBeja, in the areas of chemistry, biochemistry, urban and industrial effluent treatment and transfer phenomena.
