Francisco Javier Toledo

Francisco Javier Rivas Toledo, born in Tui (Pontevedra, Spain) in 1968. Completed studies in Chemistry (industrial field) from 1986 to 1991 at the University of Extremadura (Spain), being recognized with the “Degree Extraordinary Award” to the best academic record. PhD studies focused on the treatment of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons removal from aqueous matrix were carried out from 1991 to 1995, obtaining the “PhD Extraordinary Award” from the University of Extremadura to the best Thesis in Science. Investigations on the wet air oxidation of phenolic contaminants were carried out at the University of Bath (UK) for a period of two years (1996-97). The actual position is professor at the department of chemical engineering and physical chemistry of the university of Estremadura, together with secretary of the University Institute of Investigation on water, climate change and sustainability. He has participated in more than 25 competitive investigation projects and 12 projects with private companies, has published 150 scientific papers in JCR journals, contributing to 90 scientific meetings.
