Ana Maria Lopes

Ana Maria Carreira Lopes was born in Lisbon in 1958. She graduated in Chemical Engineering at IST, University of Lisbon, and obtained a PhD in Chemistry at the University of Beira Interior, in 1998. She has been Associate Professor, with tenure, at the Department of Chemistry at UBI since April 2011. Between 2009 and 2013 he was President of the Faculty of Sciences at UBI. He has published more than 80 articles in international peer-reviewed journals, one patent, and his work has received more than 2000 citations (h-index 22). He successfully supervised 9 PhD students and over 30 master’s students. She is currently a supervisor of 4 PhD students.
Participated as a researcher in 11 R&D and R&TD projects, having been Principal Investigator in 3 of them. He was also a member of several Scientific Committees and Organizers of scientific events. Between October 2018 and March 2022, he was President of the Portuguese Society of Electrochemistry, a society of which he was vice-president between March 2014 and October 2018, and is currently a member of the Board. Between January 2012 and May 2017, she was the Portuguese Delegate of the Portuguese Chemical Society in the “Division of Chemistry and the Environment” (DCE), of EuCheMS.
